Brooklyn South S.T.E.A.M. Fair College and Career!

On May 13, the Brooklyn South Borough Field Support Center hosted a S.T.E.A.M. Fair College and Career for the "Ladies of Brooklyn South."

As recent reports suggest, women are still very much underrepresented in STEAM Fields. Research suggest that eight key research findings that point to environmental and social barriers — including stereotypes, gender bias, and the climate of science and engineering departments in colleges and universities — that continue to block women’s progress in STEM. Brooklyn South remains committed to creating exploratory opportunities for our students to be exposed to fields and careers that they typically would not be exposed to.

The Fair was a great success! Special thanks to leadership of Districts 17, 18, 20, 21, 22 & HS for all there support in getting out the word! Additionally, we want to acknowledge SMCU Park (Home of the Brooklyn Cyclones) in Coney Island for being willing to allow us to use their facility to host this event.
