Study hard!
Over the winter, the Brooklyn South BFSC ELL Team has been preparing a new initiative "Study Groups" that was recently launched in the spring.

Study Groups consist of multiple sessions (length varies based on district), where participants engage in a deep dive around a specific text.

The idea behind study groups is to enable interested educators of selected schools to collaboratively build/foster learning and to explore practices to supply their educational kit. Cooperative learning has for years proven to be one of the most effective ways to acquire knowledge. Thus, creating opportunities for educators to gather to share learning or to discuss topics of common interest will contribute to promoting their professional growth.

We are excited about the warm reception these groups have received and are eager to continue to support districts and schools in strengthening ELL practices in this collaborative format!
