"Girls' Empowerment Move a.k.a. G.E.M." get off to a great start! We are both humbled and grateful for the overwhelming interest and support for this initiative!  

The Brooklyn South Borough Field Support Center's Kick-off Breakfast was held yesterday at the Medgar Evers College. 200+ attended tge kick-off event including representation from Districts 17, 18, 20, 21 & 22, Tweed, Brooklyn City Council, NYC Leadership Academy, NYC Criminal Court, NYC Young Men's Initiative, The Center for Arts and Culture, The Children's Aid Society, Girl Scouts of Greater New York, The Documentary Group, Cambridge Education, Chinese-American Planning Council, Inc, Citywide Council on HS  CCHS, Haitian Women for Haitian RefugeesFlanbwayan, Haitian Literacy Project, STEP UP, NYC Department of Education, Ardea Arts / The Opera Initiative, Brooklyn Borough Hall, The New York City Council, Downstate Medical Center Community Engagement and others. That said, without a doubt, the "GEMs" in attendance stole the day!
